| This year will see the first Informed Consent Awards, given to the best of UK BDSM, as voted by IC members. The nomination short-lists for the six categories have been published, and IC members can now
start voting on best new club, best established club (in London), best established club (outside London), best community group, best shop and best publication. We also have
a set of banners that nominees can use to encourage their visitors and customers to vote.

| IC now has a self-service system for the "This page sponsored by" banners which help keep the site going. You can access all this through a normal IC membership, and it allows you to upload banners to the website, pay money into your banners account and choose how much to spend each day. You can increase or decrease the display rate at any time (which can be used to target your banners to the period before a club night or product launch.) The About Banners page has more details. |

Club Hades had its opening night earlier this month, and has had rave reviews. They're also running a Slave Auction for good causes, and IC was lucky enough to be first beneficiary. Thanks to everyone who put themselves up or bid, and to Danny, Maria, MissP and MsGoth for organising the auction: £267 goes into the IC hardware fund as a result

| This week has seen the publication of a government consultation document on banning so-called "Violent Pornography." There has been a lot of discussion about this on IC and elsewhere this week, concentrating on fears that any legislation may also catch legitimate BDSM erotica, and repeat the injustice of the Spanner Precedent by interfering with the human rights of BDSM people.

| We're thinking of running annual IC Awards for people / events / etc in the UK, with categories covering the range of BDSM and Fetish events, products, publications etc. This is still at the early stages of planning, but if you've got any suggestions about categories and procedures, please join the discussion that has started on the web boards. |

| Informed Consent has a new banner you can use for linking to this site from your own webpages: a standard size 468x60 GIF, with the Union Jack and BDSM Rights Flag, representing BDSM in the UK. The linking to IC page includes an HTML code fragment you can use to add the banner to your own webpages. |

KinkFest 2 in London on Saturday 30th July is shaping up to be a huge event, and people have asked for some way to identify other IC members. So
as promised there will be free IC ribbons available on the day.
Just go to the
stand of Kinklusive (Manchester's event on the 12th of November) and ask for one. The ribbons are black and blue - the main colours of the Leather Pride Flag - and we have some pre-tied bows, and for the [more...]
