| She's back home! The operation was a bit more complicated than anticipated, she had to have necrotic tissue removed and there is still some infection. She has four sets of stitches, and is on new antibiotics and more painkillers. She's very groggy from the anaesthetic still and is stumbling about and looking peaky and behaving a bit weirdly. Am keeping a close eye on her and back to vets again on Friday. They've warned us she could still get more abscesses and further infection and that it's still going to take a lot more time for her to fully recover. [more...] | ||

| Following on from the start of cat trauma it's been over a month now of Maisie Moo's recovery and it feels a bit one step forward, two steps back right now. The wounds were looking a bit better but one has flared up again, and the abscess is still too open so tomorrow morning she goes in to have surgery to close them. There is still no movement in her tail though she does have increasing tone, but ultimately we won't know if her tail can be saved until her back has fully healed. [more...] | ||

| My youngest cat Maisie was badly attacked by another cat 11 days ago. I sat up with her all night before taking her to the emergency vet. She's been on daily painkillers, antibiotics and treatments. Last night a huge abscess on her back burst. Her tail is paralysed and may have to be amputated. [more...] | ||

| There was once a velveteen rabbit, and in the beginning he was really splendid. He was fat and bunchy, as a rabbit should be; his coat was spotted brown and white, he had real thread whiskers, and his ears were lined with pink sateen. On Christmas morning, when he sat wedged in the top of the Boy's stocking, with a sprig of holly between his paws, the effect was charming. [more...] | ||

| I used to have a cat. Her name was Storm. I met her for the first time when I went round to a potential flatmates house for a drink. I was 18 and had always wanted a ginger cat. I had visions of calling it Travolta. Soon as I saw Storm I thought she was beautiful. She was only 8 months old then. A stunning vivid shade of orange, beautiful clear markings, big, wise eyes.
