| Enough rants. Enough time spent thinking about that which I cannot change. Time for some meditation on one of the things that I truly enjoy, one of the things that makes me feel wonderfully, superlatively alive: needle play. I've been thinking of writing about this for some time, but have not been sure what to say. This past weekend, we again incorporated needles into our play. | It's been a while since I've posted two blogs in as many days, but I was inspired by some things mentioned by ShadowRose in her accounts of the past weekend. In "Weekend part one", she described her first visit to a particular West Midlands dungeon as "a revelation". | Once again, I find myself still "coming down" from last weekend. One highlight among many was a play party we attended Saturday night. I'm never quite sure whether to describe this event as "public" or "private". It's the bimonthly get-together of our West Midlands-based BDSM group, held in the group's regular venue in Birmingham -- a great place, with an even greater dungeon! It's Matou's and my favourite place to play (if we don't count his home mini-dungeon, of which I am very fond!). | I've been debating for some time on whether to add my voice to the ongoing discussion of poly relationships, attached dom/mes, and the like. I decided to go ahead, as I have some related experience: the last three years of my late and unlamented marriage were, in fact, a 24/7, living-together threesome. This was not a BDSM or D/s relationship -- one of the consequences of the third person joining the marriage was that all vestiges of kink were banished, as she did not approve of such goings-on. | A year ago this week, I took my first step into the BDSM scene, by sending off several emails to people listed as "meeters-and-greeters" for munches sponsored by several different groups. And one year ago today, one of those meeters&greeters, a Dom named Matou, answered my initial query, and in so doing, changed my life.
