| Am feeling all happy and glowy after a bit of British Military Fitness action. I got so muddy that my knees were muddy underneath my clothes and someone on the tube had to inform me that I had mud on my face but am enjoying the high of the afterglow. | I have noted a 'positive' for the feeling more grown-up, namely that it's bought back some of the self-confidence that has suffered a bit during a nightmare couple of years. That in turn has me racing after life's technicolour goodness and the training for the half-marathon has taken a huge leap forward. Suddenly I don't just want food, I want good food. I don't just want to exercise I want to go through the pain barrier and send my heart rate skyrocketing into the 200s and I don't want that to somewhat reluctantly match my training plan - I want to do it every day. | It's been a funny couple of months - not so much a storm as seemingly living in the middle of a tornado. A new job, which finally is worthwhile and has real purpose but has seen me take in four countries in the last five weeks and dumped me back down feeling washed out, if ultimately pleased. Throw in a few scary situations - a shooting outside the hotel, machine guns on every street corner, dodgy people and coping with the culture shock and jet lag of doing London and back several times and I'm a little bit broken. | Why is it that you're never angry at quite the right time? When it would actually be useful to be bloody furious because you'd kick seven shades of shit out of whatever poor sod was stupid enough to oppose you in a sporting endeavour or even a battle of wits. And the subsequent battle would exhaust you so you wouldn't be cross anymore. Sometimes I feel like holding up a sign saying 'if you're going to piss me off in the next few days please do it now when it will at least be useful'. | I'm sitting here attempting to revise for an exam tomorrow and it seems there's no escape from my dirty thoughts. Learning tax rules surrounding 'chattels' keeps filling my head with thoughts of slave markets, exotic places, ornate bondage and cruel masters. The rules surrounding treatment of subsidiaries aka 'subs' aren't much better, I'm pretty sure I could come up with a far more interesting set of rules given half a chance...and every time I tell myself to be a good girl and get on with the studying I'm having dirty schoolroom fantasies- aaargh! Friday night in on my own (no psycho flatmate) after a hectic week. Just had a yummy homemade pasta and sauce with lots of cheese, have a glass of red wine in hand and some green and blacks dark chocolate with ginger. Have made some tough career decisions, met some very lovely people recently (not to mention done some fab things with lovely friends) and am doing something I love tomorrow. | Well I'm off to Morocco in 14 days and can't wait- the countdown is well and truly in effect! Morocco always reminds me of the book (and film) 'Hideous Kinky' about travelling and living in Marrakech in the early '70s. Am taking advantage of cheap Ryanair flights, as I've done the ferry and overnight train thing before, on my first 'Hideous Kinky' adventure with two of my friends in our first year of uni.
