Sometimes one has to take a firm line.
I took a firm line the other day, but the security guard
at the door stopped me before I'd sneaked out the door
and tried to make me pay for it. In some senses - that
was a firmer line than the one I'd just tried to take,
but mine was a slightly lighter shade of blue so I think
I win.
Once I'd stumped up the 50p for the firm line and left
the shop (ignoring the guard's scowl) I wondered what I
was going to do with it.
I tried taking it to an old lady, but she just tutted
and walked off. Then I thought I'd take it to the woods
as I like the idea of being firm with wood.
The trees just laughed at me like they always do.
Swines. One day I'll show them!
Anyway - after that I was feeling a little embarressed,
as you can imagine I'm sure. I decided to feel
something else instead so tried feeling a) happy, b)
like a cloud, and c) a thigh. The last of these
actually turned out to be the most interesting (though
the whole "cloud situation" may need some more
investigation). I discovered that feeling thighs can be
good fun. Especially if you take off your mittens first.
After such an adventurous day I was feeling quite
tuckered, but pleased at my desision to aquire a firm line.
Tomorrow I may try aquiring a slightly pliable line -
just to see what it's like.
