I find I really oppose the prescriptive manner in which people are advised to conduct their various BDSM relationships. | Do you think happiness is constant or short lived? That's a question I asked a lovely person the other day... We were discussing my dysfunction about long term relationships and I was a little indignant that anything falling short of V's 10 year plan was deemed to be less meaningful. Is meaning in longevity? Or in the unique moments we rescue from routine and humdrum? Is the stolen embrace of lovers less meaningful than the cuddling of couples? | Often, I get told it is the submissive that wields power in a D/s relationship - because they have a safe word or because they set the limits etc... I find it quite frustrating because I think the idea perpetuates a myth and leaves the submissive in a more vulnerable position. I think power is in knowledge and fact, not in the suppositions of what ifs. [more...] | ||
