| In 1953 Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were executed after they had been convicted of conspiring to give atomic secrets to the Soviets. For 26 months, from the time of their arrest to their execution, they communciated regularly with their children, Michael and Robert, who were aged seven and three when their parents were taken away. The Rosenberg's refusal totalk and their staunch silence when it came to naming names resulted in their deaths-but they maintained their innocence to the end.
