In the last couple of days someone called "smoo" has been sending emails with fake From: lines. I know some have gone out with From: Tanos@tanos.org.uk, and I have received at least one addressed to me which I believe to be faked (to discredit the apparent sender.)

Since smoo has a list of people to hate in Manchester, as we saw earlier in the year with the thread created by a smoo sock-puppet to undermine the Phoenix munch, there may be several other people in the area being attacked this way.

Since you can't trust the From: line of an email, if you receive an out of character email from someone, please double-check it's genuine.
