| I have Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder, which people often mix up with the more well known Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. In short, it is to do with perfectionism and control, and things never being quite 'right' or 'good enough'.A prime example was my dissertation which I struggled to hand in because I kept changing it and could never accept that it was finished or good enough. I eventually handed it in on the 4th attempt, still unfinished. This wasn't because I hadn't put the work into it, but because I would never finish it, as in my mind it had to be perfect and never would be. [more...] | ||

| I made a choice in 1996 to do something that changed my life. I'm not going to divulge what it was, it's not something that I share with many.It was a suprisingly easy choice to make, despite the implications and consequences of that choice. What I decided to do changed me as a person.At first, I never understood why I decided to do what I did, and for years questioned why I would do something that was potentially dangerous and would impact on me and future relationships with others in a significant and often negative way. | Looking out from my balcony this morning, I noticed that the wing mirror on the passenger side of my car looked abit odd. Went down to have a look, and someone has hit my car during the night and almost taken the mirror off,it's hanging on by a thread, and left a number of scratches down the side of my car. | My 16 year old cousin was walking home from a youth club the other night, where he is a volunteer. Minding his own business, three young males blocked his path. One then produced a knife and 'demanded' that he hand over his phone and cash. His response was ' I don't think so', and then smashed the knife wielding scumbag square in the face. Billie has cancer. She is one of my beloved cats, and has been on chemo since July last year. She is the most lovely, cheeky, and friendly little thing ( I like to think she takes after me  !). When she was first diagnosed, the vet did not expect her to live much beyond afew weeks. We have all been suprised how well she has done. [more...]
