| A very clever plot was hatched by a government eons ago. At the bottom of most hills they fitted a turning on the offside and use unemployed people to pull out just as you are approaching the hill. Now you may think this is of no consequence but if you have to slow down, accelerating up a hill uses significantly more fuel that on a level road thus overall that shiny penny you save on each litre of fuel is gobbled up and you pay more on average. | After parking for a short time to do a bit of shopping where I frequently do I went to the machine, inserted my ticket and the price £1.50 was displayed. I inserted my money, took the ticket and went to my car driving to the barrier. The barrier machine wouldn't accept the ticket at all. | Following the Radio Luxemburg thread, who remembers Radio Caroline? I can remember listening to it on my PP3 powered, made in taiwan, portable transistor radio at night through my earpiece. I so wish I had sent away for any of their tee shirts or mugs or badges and kept them they would be worth a bit by now. I vaguely remember when they got boarded and shut down. | I have never been able to get a decent mobile phone signal in my house with any of the networks and so was delighted when I found out that Vodafone had a device to help. It is known as a femtocell and Your Vodafone signal is recieved or transmitted from your phone/dongle/tablet through it down your Broaband connection back to the Vodaphone network. The results I have been achieved have been outstanding so far within a range of approx 30 metres. I'm not aware of any other network that supplies these so if your signal is crap around your house and garden and you want your own mini phone mast they [more...] | ||

| We'll to anyone who went out to a party last night myself and some other lovely people had a great time in the chatroom. I think it was the best new years do I've ever been to, after all I didn't get cold, didn't pay inflated fares for a cab home or miss a night bus, had no idiots spill drinks over me but just enjoyed the company of some terrific people.
