23 Oct 11The road untravelled (6)(23 Oct 11, 9:12 PM by tanken)
Many years ago, I had to make an extremely difficult and huge life changing decision. In most ways I made the wrong one, due to fear, although one of the best things in my life resulted from it. But this weekend I've had the chance to experience what life could have been like, had I made the other decision. None the wiser but feels like I'm living in an alternative reality. [more...]
1 Oct 11Is anyone out there still awake? (15)(1 Oct 11, 11:12 AM by Pinderella)
Title says it all.
23 Jun 10Tired but can't go to bed yet (2)(23 Jun 10, 5:30 AM by Trussedworthy)
I am exhausted - have just finished work. I've been really stressed about getting it finished and now my head is buzzing, meaning I'm too wound up to go to sleep. [more...]

29 May 10Laptop problems (5)(29 May 10, 5:00 PM by shibari_mike)
I have lost the sound on my laptop. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong or anything I could try before calling out the repair man(I have made sure the volume is turned up, before you ask)?
20 May 10Morons (5)(21 May 10, 9:28 AM by Ima_Kant)
My life at the moment seems to be full of morons who are making things difficult. Surely it will get better than this?
19 May 10Shell and the Niger Delta (12)(20 May 10, 9:47 PM by Domosan)
Has anyone else lobbied against this? I have e-mailed Shell and contributed to Amnesty's newspaper advertisements against this, only to receive an e-mail from them, saying that they are faultless! As if! [more...]
16 May 10Books about totalitarianism (6)(16 May 10, 11:16 PM by MistressBloke)
Can anyone recommend some good novels about totalitarianism, along the lines of: Brave New World, The Handmaid's Tale and 1984?
5 May 10Don't know who to vote for (3)(6 May 10, 6:51 PM by The_Colonel_Whatwhat)
Despite reading up on all the issues, I still can't decide which party to vote for. The party who i think has the best overall policies doesn't share my views on the most important issue for me. Should I still vote for them or vote for another party solely for this one issue? I'll be standing in the polling booth with my pen hovering up and down the ballot paper for ages, as usual. I think we need electoral reform to make way for pick 'n' mix politics.
30 Mar 10Books for the library(30 Mar 10, 10:03 PM by SarahSoo)
On a lighter note - I had a very bizarre conversation with the headmaster tonight. We were discussing whether Mills and Boon books are dirty and suitable for being held within the school library and then moved on to what to make of Lady Chatterleys' Lover!
30 Mar 10Don't know what to do(30 Mar 10, 8:58 PM by SarahSoo)
Why do I only post on here when I'm really fed up? I need to sound myself out on this one and let off some steam before I do anything. For the past year, my relationship has been struggling and has been very turbulent. I haven't felt confident that it's going anywhere due to various circumstances and constraints upon our lives. Because of that, I've not been able to invest as much into as I could have otherwise done and it's led to much pent up frustration which has bubbled up and spewed out in abundance, causing many break and make ups. I don't feel that I can go on like this for another year, [more...]
4 Feb 10Quick Rant (2)(5 Feb 10, 6:00 AM by Trussedworthy)
Friend R has seemed a bit off with me since yesterday. I'd arranged to go out with friend N tomorrow but she asked me not to tell R in case he wanted to come too. I therefore didn't tell him even though I had wanted to ask him to come along. He's now texted me to say that N has told him we're going out tomorrow night and he must be wondering why I hadn't told him myself. I don't know what to say as I can't tell him that the reason i hadn't told him was because N told me not to. She has dropped me right in it and the only way to extricate myself is to drop her in it instead. Or something like that! [more...]
4 Sep 09Daily Mail (10)(6 Sep 09, 12:21 AM by nortyboy)
That was quite amusing - a man just knocked on my door and tried to get me to sign up to a Daily Mail subscription. He even asked me if I'd read it if I was paid £50 to do so! After I told him it was a load of fascist, ignorant, prejudiced rubbish, he had to laugh and walk off in defeat.
26 Aug 09I need some motivation (6)(26 Aug 09, 6:12 PM by The_Colonel_Whatwhat)
I'm sitting here, feeling drowsy and a bit spaced out, looking at piles of work that needs finishing yesterday. I've sorted out lots of odds and ends but the bulk of it is still staring at me, ominously. [more...]

10 Aug 09Finding an old friend (3)(11 Aug 09, 2:04 AM by TheEndlessEnigma)
Can anyone help me find an old friend of mine? I seem to have tried all the obvious web based searches but no sign of him. I lost his contact details when my car was broken into and I'd dearly love to catch up with him
6 Aug 09Children's behaviour (25)(10 Aug 09, 4:18 PM by nura_MJM)
It's been a long and difficult day. Can anyone give advice on how to deal with one child biting another?
3 Aug 09Alternative paths (4)(5 Aug 09, 7:32 AM by Thebluetouchpaper)
Do you ever wonder what would have happened if you'd have followed a different road? Just found out that a really good job i turned down years ago (MD potential) was with a a company that has just gone into administration. Always wondered whether i'd made the right choice and now know i shouldn't have doubted myself.
2 Aug 09'Sliding Doors' moments (2)(3 Aug 09, 9:27 PM by SarahSoo)
I had a dream last night about a friend I lost touch with several years ago. I keep trying to find him, but to no avail. It got me thinking about the film Sliding Doors where Gwyneth Paltrow misses the train and her life suddenly races off in a particular direction because of one small incident. The last time I saw this friend, he tried to stop me leaving his house but I went anyway. If he'd succeeded and I'd have stayed, my life would be completely different in every way to what it is now. It may have saved a lot of heartache but I may have missed out on a lot of joy too. I'll never know. I wonder [more...]
27 Jul 09Turning into a grumpy old man (7)(27 Jul 09, 10:36 PM by SarahSoo)
I'm just wondering how many excuses someone can make and how many someone can take. I may have reached that limit. I seem to be turning into a grumpy old man, always complaining. I want more out of life.... At least I got rid of the Sky TV door to door salesperson by telling her i don't have a tv. That always throws them.
