| Friday I cut the tip off my thumb....True That is being a bit dramatic, but it still bloody hurt. . Saturday I found out my boiler was broken, lovely pilot light, but no main burners . Monday my car broke down. Dead as a dodo when I went to start it first thing. Start it I might add to take it for it's FIRST ever service. I am lucky enough to have been able to afford to get a brand spanking new one in sept. . so with a bit of luck and following the theory of they come in threes I'm out the woods. [more...] | ||

| Well they took her in on Tuesday and I don't think I've ever been so scared as we drove there. We found the ward and introduced ourselves and almost immediately things started to get better. The staff were wonderful, kind, helpful and quite obviously full of compassion and professionalism. The Docs. came to see us fairly quickly and started to explain things. Roche cant have the type of Chemo they usually use but can have a type that is also being included in a clinical trial with another drug. | Today we went to the hospital again for another "big" appointment for Roche. This time we were ready for it. This time we both knew in our hearts what they were going to say and they did. Leukemia. A nasty sort as well. A sort that doesn't muck about and take it's time. A sort that gets the job done quick. So it was choose. Let it take it's course and allow it to take her from me in a few months. Or stand and fight. I will be honest, we thought about allowing it to do it's worst. We thought about having what time was left without hospitals and pain and nasty Chemotherapy. But then we thought again. [more...] | ||

| The official party celebration for our wedding took place last night and it was a roaring success. [The only problems that we had were based around the Marquee company being a tad arsey with us and turning up a lot later than they should have. The result of which was my day started at 5.30am.] But the end result looked stunning, mainly due to the amazing efforts of Roche's two daughters Sara and Debbie who worked till they almost dropped to make our day special. | So people it's been a while now since the dreaded no smoking law came in. How is everyone finding it? Personally as a non smoker I like the cleaner air and lack of smelly clothes the next day! Of course for every one of my reasons to like it a smoker will probably have an equally valid reason to hate it. So...answers on a postcard please..lets see if pervery approves or disapproves!! | As the afternoon drew to a close we set off upstairs to get ready. Didn't want to rush it, didn't want to be dashing about madly at the last minute. Wanted to enjoy getting ready, wanted it to be part of the fun! Then it was time, Wolf_in_Leather, slutwolf and firelynx arrived and we piled into the car and we were off. | Roche is 2/3rds of her way thro her 2nd and final bag of blood as I type and althought they wont discharge her till her consultant says so on Monday We got a weekend pass for her tomorrow, so we will get to go to the Gathering after all. So see you folks there | ||

| Well OK so perhaps I'm being a tad dramatic there.. The anemia that has been plaguing my lovely Roche has flared up again and has caused this latest foray into the black arts. Otherwise known as a blood transfusion. As I type she is sat bored out of her mind in a lil private side ward in Mansfield awaiting one or two units of the red stuff to kick start her back into action. Only a temporary cure of course, the docs have a magic injection up their sleeve for that. Well a lot of injections actually, something like one a week for good. But hey, what is one more needle!!!
