| Quite like westerns. Quite like SF. So whats not to like in a SF western, I ask you? I'm about to watch it now. I'm not expecting a script by Shakespheare or even that much of a plot, well this much of a plot: aliens, meet cowbows. Cowboys, meet aliens, now shake hands or tentacles and lets have a nice clean fight. | ||

| Out of the batch of films I've watched in recent days this stands out for me and is worth recommending. Its a creepy, tight little horror film set on the moon. If you remember the actual Apollo moon landings, the film is shot in that same style, from static internal cameras in the spaceship and hand held cameras and a camera on the moon rover vehicle when they're on the moon's surface. Just three actors in it, a clever plot, and makes a welcome change from slasher movies set in old creepy houses, but delivering the same kind of chills. A good one I think. | ||

| Just taking a break from it. Caesar is about to break out of the primate compound. I'm still in two minds about it. All this CGI, mostly I think what am I doing watching this, but occasionally I think okay, I'm feeling sympathy for the CGI ape, the storytelling is working on me, but still, too many apes, far too many apes in that primate compound, why can't these films be a bit more intimate? Perhaps thats what I'm really missing, with CGI everything is on such an epic scale now, with casts of thousands. [more...] | ||
