| The question “what is feminism” was brought up on here, and it led me to think a lot about my position on feminism, but more, my thoughts on men and masculine identity, something I don't often think about as a femme. | I am a sucker, a true sucker, for snazzily dressed men with vintage taste. Modern dandies are my favourite- a step up from the mere metrosexual, these are guys who have multiple products in their bathroom, sure, but they also wax their moustaches and have that rakish charm and pure nerve that only dandies can really master. | As of Tuesday I will be on a plane back to sunny, sticky California, to pack up my things and begin to close accounts, apply for the visa, and plan for the big move over here in the autumn. I'm scared, and excited, and feel this time like things, in general, are more stable and positive than last time. My body bears the delightful bruises of play partners that I feel pretty sure will be around when I come back, and will stay in touch while I'm gone. | The number of threads I've seen on here where the Holocaust comes up as a poorly explained metaphor for some potential discrimination, or as just a general attempt at flame-throwing/thread-ending, is appalling. | Living back in the Bay Area, it's been interesting to see how casually sexual favors are flung about as a way to navigate tricky social waters.
