| 2 May 10 | Election thoughts (11) | (4 May 10, 10:16 AM by Prunesquallor) |
| Speaking personally, I think the best outcome of this election would be a hung parliament between the Tories and the Lib Dems. Second best would be a hung parliament between Labour and the Lib Dems. The worst possible outcome would be a Tory government with a workable majority, but the way things are going, this is looking more and more like what we could well end up with. [more...] | ||

I found this to be a very sobering view of the current battle in Afghanistan, and see nothing to doubt in his account. He was a British Ambassador, and clearly has experience of what he is speaking about. [more...] | ||

| 11 Jul 08 | Censorship close to home (4) | (11 Jul 08, 8:41 PM by prune_juice) |
| One of the things that really annoys me about some threads on these boards is when the original poster chooses to censor the replies. On those rare occasions when I write a weblog, I am grateful for any response I receive - even those which are in disagreement or are critical. If you bother to respond to what I say, then your response will stand and I will be glad of it. [more...] | ||
| 26 May 08 | Have we all turned into Americans? (20) | (28 May 08, 8:32 PM by electricfog) |
| Why is it that everybody these days talks about their 'ass' instead of their 'arse'? I know that the British have a sycophantic love of the American culture, but really, an arse can't be mistaken for a donkey, and an ass can. So let's use the British word which completely avoids ambiguity, eh? | ||
