| 20 Dec 05 | Credit where it is due (1) | (21 Dec 05, 11:38 AM by PFLsAgain) |
| Oh, my! It's been over a year since I blogged. There were reasons for that (and still are) but sometimes "a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do" - in this case remove the bushel and let others see the light. [more...]

| 2 Aug 04 | Humiliation vs embarrassment | (2 Aug 04, 6:48 PM by Matou) |
| I was told recently that they were the same thing so,
pedant that I am, I looked them up. Definitions varied
but some phrases were more common than others. One
curious thing is that (according to the dictionaries)
humiliation was “strong embarrassment” but nowhere in
the definition of embarrassment was humiliation
mentioned. “Loss of self-respect” and “degradation”
were common for humiliation but the nearest
embarrassment could get was “shame [at having something
private made public].” [more...]

| 6 Apr 04 | Accentuate the positive... | (6 Apr 04, 9:33 PM by Matou) |
| …so goes the old song. And so goes my philosophy as a
lifestyle Dominant. This weblog is the Dom-side view of
the latest weblog of my beloved cerrynn. This is
probably as opinionated as hers but, just like hers,
these are only our opinions – feel free to disagree as
strongly as you like. No offence is intended. [more...]

| 10 Mar 04 | Sermon from the Mount | (10 Mar 04, 10:31 PM by Matou) |

Now, before the Right Irreverend Matou starts
pontificating, a few other things…. [more...]

| 31 Jan 04 | The Internet | (31 Jan 04, 2:55 PM by Matou) |
| Before I get into the 'meat' of this log, a few side
issues. To kayla, memo will be en route shortly – and
you looked absolutely *stunning* at the Fashion Show.
ShadowRose gently (lovely lady that she is) rapped my
knuckles about my last weblog, pointing out that the
Empire Trilogy is actually a joint effort between
Raymond Feist and Janny Wurts. She is absolutely right.
Mea culpa. They write brilliantly together and
definitely better, in my humble opinion, than either on
their own. Arigato gazeimas, ShadowRose, thank you. [more...]

| 25 Jan 04 | Your will, Sensei | (25 Jan 04, 6:34 AM by Matou) |
| Those are the words cerrynn used in an email to me
earlier tonight. They brought a smile to my face, as I
am very well aware of their origin. As anyone would be
who has also read the Empire trilogy by Raymond Feist.
The book cerrynn is currently reading is the last of
the three. Whilst being set on a strange world called
Kelewan, Feist has borrowed heavily from Japan and
other far eastern countries in the construction of the
culture of the inhabitants, the Tsurani. [more...]

| 14 Jan 04 | Otanjobi omedeto, cerrynn-sensei | (14 Jan 04, 10:30 PM by Matou) |

following quotation, taken from “Hagakure: The Book of
the Samurai” by Yamamoto Tsunetomo, 1631-1700,
translated by W. Scott Wilson. [more...]

| 11 Jan 04 | The Gods of Mischief | (11 Jan 04, 1:32 AM by Matou) |
| According to Norse mythology, Loki was known as the God
of mischief because of all his little pranks.
According to some sources he was also known as the God
of Fire, though they don't say why. I guess he must
read my weblogs and have taken umbrage because he paid
me a visit after VE last night. [more...]

| 8 Jan 04 | On a couple of topics | (8 Jan 04, 11:51 PM by Matou) |
| It seems that our weblogs have caused quite a furore in
certain quarters and my read count has joined cerrynn's
in its skyward journey. We are even the subject of an
editorial together with attendant comments from some of
their readers. The whooshing noise you hear is the
sound of a point being completely missed (at the time
of writing) by all but one of them. To that one person,
should they read this weblog, we say “Thank you”. [more...]

| 7 Jan 04 | A message from cerrynn … and the continuing saga | (7 Jan 04, 11:17 PM by Matou) |
| First off, a message from cerrynn to those who have
memoed and emailed her recently – she is currently
effectively silenced by the esoteric mysteries of
communications and computers - or, to put it another
way, her 'puter is bust! Hopefully, this will be fixed
very shortly and she will be able to reply to you. [more...]

| 4 Jan 04 | MKane | (4 Jan 04, 7:32 PM by Matou) |
| Thank you for your comments, Mkane. I expressly set out
not to flame and I am gratified that I succeeded.
However, I think you misunderstood my essential
purpose. The primary point I was making is that the
Internet is not responsible for the evolution of D/s,
as both an online and real life phenomenon, to the
stage it is today in the same way that the tsetse fly
is not responsible for its evolution as a spreader of
disease – it is the people who use it. Further, I felt
that your points were only showing one side of the
coin. [more...]

| 4 Jan 04 | Re: "Evolution of D/s" -- A considered response | (4 Jan 04, 5:42 AM by Matou) |
| I don't think that MKane has been entirely fair to the
process we understand as “Evolution”. I wonder if he
would examine all of Nature's failures and oddities and
shake his head sadly, tut-tutting, “Evolution, eh?” [more...]

| 2 Jan 04 | Spanking - the other cheek | (2 Jan 04, 9:22 PM by Matou) |
| Clare's weblog of 29 December 2003, “Get out of BDSM?”
where she commented that “I'm just not likely to get
excited by an otk spanking anymore” caught the
attention of cerrynn and myself. We certainly aren't
disagreeing with her, it's a personal thing and not
something it is possible to disagree with but we
thought we would give our slant on things. [more...]

| 11 Dec 03 | Upcoming events - slightly slushy | (11 Dec 03, 1:57 AM by Matou) |
| Well it's that time of the month again – no, not PMS –
VE. *And* it's the Christmas edition, to boot. Velvet
Eden has always had a special place in the
Matou/cerrynn lifestyle. We always look forward to it.
Funny that two out of three of our favourite events are
hosted by BV and cerbie. Unfortunately, this month will
be the second one I will be attending without cerrynn. [more...]

| 13 Nov 03 | For cerrynn{M} | (13 Nov 03, 1:27 AM by Matou) |
| Informed Consent is a public forum, very public, in
fact, something of which we should all be aware.
Cerrynn and I are very aware of it and we write our
weblogs with that in mind. For once, I am going to
depart from that and write this weblog with one person
in mind. Despite that, many people, some close friends
and some we know only via these hallowed pages will
read it. It is excessively maudlin and dreadfully
sentimental so read on at your own risk. [more...]

| 30 Sep 03 | So the bloggers dinner party actually happened | (30 Sep 03, 3:31 PM by Matou) |
| Not exactly as in the fantasy one since all the dinner
guests already knew each other very well. What can I
say about it? Well, to start with, cerrynn and I had
been looking forward to this for many reasons, most
happy – but some with a tinge of sadness. Due to the
Real Life/Vanilla problems we have alluded to in
previous weblogs she has to leave the UK and return to
the US for a while, at least two months, and this
dinner party would probably be the last time we (the
guests) would meet up before she leaves. [more...]
