My eye caught a movement in the restless water, not twenty feet from me, a slim neck protrudes from a black back floating low in the water it's narrow head turning quickly from side to side in the grey light, then with hardly an extra ripple the bird dives beneath the green water. I know from experience these diving birds can travel considerable distances under water while hunting, but a few moments later the head reappears even closer to the seawall where I am doing my doctor's orders.
