We have just returned from our second visit to the French Dungeon and are already planning our third! There were some minor improvements to the facilities since our last visit and it is obvious that our hosts are determined to make even more in the future. Once again we arrived on a Friday afternoon for a whole week of relaxation and good food. Once again we had packed too much but you just don't know what you are going to need. Having done all the research and feeling fairly certain that we had made the right decision we booked our crossing from Dover to Calais well in advance and paid £60 return with P & O. Although the crossings from Portsmouth would take us closer to the French Dungeon the extra cost outweighed the fuel and toll charges from Calais. The excitement meant that I woke at 2am and couldn't get back to sleep so we left home rather earlier than intended.
