| On Tuesday I go to the post-scene care clinic to have my wounds tended. The nurse smiles as she asks me if I've been very active in the past few week since last visit and I tell her yes, I've really indulged, maybe a bit too much. She says, well, let's take a look and then prepares the salve as I lower my jeans and lie face down on the bed. She examines the stripes from the caning and says, oh my, you really have indulged haven't you, and touches a bruise here and there and asks if it still smarts.
