| I had to take a weeks holiday from work, or lose it. Then as it turned out we couldn't get away to where I'd hoped to spend the time, after all. | Cycled up there on Friday morning, wanting to ensure the workshops were going to be ready for the following day. This was the first chance I had to actually see the part of the venue that I was responsible for. Except for some lunch out in the sunshine and a meander on the familiar Southbank, I'd spent five hours mostly waiting for nothing much to happen, until I'd felt sure enough of things to leave. | Spent the day wandering around Greenwich again, in the park, in the market, second hand bookshops, and looking at the antique/junk stalls. A pleasant way to spend the day. | ||

| At last and in a hurry, I got myself some decent club wear in Camden. It's not a great outfit but it will do. Got home afterwards feeling tired from the hot stifling tube journey, all the sights and noisy market stalls. Sweet subbie joked that we stay in instead. I said no we're going out. | Got to the club in good time, J' was still setting up. Then I got to find out just how it is done. I've seen people often enough, finishing one length of hemp so it holds in place, now I understand just how the knotted ends work, elegantly simple - after we've gone and whipped ours. The hemp rope we have is maybe a bit thicker than I'd like and probably I'll have to get some more. I do seem to be collecting a lot of different kinds of rope. [more...] | ||
