Satuurday 12th November.
It was a loverly sunny day as me and j set off from West Yorkshire to hop over the border to Manchester and Kinklusive.
Getting near Manchester wasn't a problem, but trying to navigate around the damned city area wasn't all that good - seems that signposts evapourate, lanes change unannounced and you get sent well off track.
Eventually found the venue, and then had to find a place to park, and we settled for a nice long-stay NCP carpark which was only £2.50 all day. Not too bad really.
Headed off to Kinklusive, which was smaller than I imagined, but met up with friends and aquaintences old and new, and generally chilled with some poeple. Tried to convince j that the E-stim machine might be a good toy, but she wasn't convinced - although the other little present I got her went down a treat later... but that is enough of that.
The event ended and we left the venue, walked back to the car and found the usual advertising leaflets all over the car windscreen... and a nice parking ticket for £60 because I didn't Pay & Display - even though my ticket was still there, sat on the dashboard. That was it... I was not impressed.
Now, being from a civilised part of the world all the Pay & Display tickets I have seen have a little sticker on the back, allowing them to be stuck in a nice visible place on the windscreen. Not here - they are a little bit of paper that you have to stick on the dashboard.
Well that about finishes it off for Manchester for me. It is 10 years since I last visited and didn't have a very nice experience of the place (I was going out with a woman from Bury, and it didn't go down too well with some people - how dare a Yorkshireman date a Lancastrian woman... yes, the War of the Roses was several hundred years ago, but some people still can't leave it).
Grrr...
D.
Still fuming.
South Yorkshire.

Well if you've still got the pay and display ticket then you can challenge the parking ticket. Although depends how arsey they will be over it.

You should be able to dispute that fine if you have your ticket. I would photocopy it and post it with a letter to them!
sorry it put a dampner on your day!

I think I have it sorted.
Rang the advice line today - file not says the ticket looked like it had blown over, so told to put a photocopy in with a letter and all should be OK (apparently) so feeling a little better about it now... "Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so..."
