I have had enough. Of everything. Of attempting to eat vaguely healthily, of not being able to take my dog out for a run round the park, of being at home on my own all bloody day unable to do the things I'd usually do to pass the time, of having to sleep every afternoon just to be able to keep my eyes open til 11pm, of having to ask F to run around picking up all the stuff I've dropped and can't pick up, of not being able to lie on my stomach...I could continue but the list is even boring me!
I want this baby OUT! To the extent that me...terrified of hospitals, operations etc etc is seriously contemplating begging my midwife to book me in for a cesearean, induction...ANYTHING. All the home remedies for kick starting labour do not work. I'm alternating between angry and weepy and taking it out on everyone around me and I can't help it and I HATE doing it.
F is out this evening at a collegue's leaving do, he won't be home very late...but I already know I'm going to be stroppy with him when he comes in. Really don't want to be, but I'm so bloody jealous that he's out having fun while I'm stuck at home feeling like crap. Keep getting odd period like pains that just annoy me cause I know that there's nothing happening.
I've been trying really hard the last few days not to get like this, but I've given in. It's just too much effort and I can't do it for the next three and a half weeks...especially as I'll probably go overdue. Just at the end of my tether right now, bored, feel like crap, depressed...
The joy of pregnancy...

There is often a period in the time before labour starts that you feel odd period like pains - it is all part of things preparing to start. I'm NOT saying it's immenant, (sorry!) but it sound like things are def moving in the right direction. I know how you feel hon! I've got 3 kids and was 1 or 2 weeks late with each of them! (torture! lol) So you're hormonal and irritable - and fed up with yourself for feeling so crappy. I know it's horrible and hard. - (hugs). Can you think of doing something REALLY nice that might distract you for a little while? Pamper yourself if you can! you deserve it! You've done SUCH a lot of work over the past months. I can only reccomend hot curries, sex and extended nipple stimulation! (long time :- 45 mins +) - that sometimes sets thing off ... but only if its the right time. I'm sure things will work in their own time, but I know it seems like forever. Hang in there..

this girl can't even begin to imagine how bloody awful it must be being SO pregnant in this heat!!!! having had babies in May and December... the May one was bad enough... it was a very warm spring so this girl just lay out in a hammock in a shady spot and read books and alternated that with wallowing in a lot of cool baths (basically all the things you don't get to do once the baby is there)! The only nasty point was one day when partner dashed off to buy croissants one morning and this girl got stuck in the hammock... by the time he got back (with flowers and bread products..and a big spliff he rolled on the way back through the house) this girl needed the toilet so badly she verbally ripped his head off whilst he attempted to extract beached whale from said hammock! See...its perfectly normal behaviour. But really... think of this as your last holiday.. let everyone who offered to help when the baby comes start now!! and you just do all the lazy...taking it easy things you can think of.... even if it means sitting under the airconditioning unit in the local supermarket in a deck chair... you are heavily pregnant people expect you to do bizarre things... ...oh and take advantage of the 'pregnant ladies can wee in the street law.... or is it...pregnant ladies can pee in policemens helmets... actually on second thoughts... they might be modern myths.. so maybe not! love peace greens redcat ps.. the pains are probably braxton hicks and the other food that supposedly gets you going is pineapple... which is nice in this weather. The rule is, jam tomorrow and jam yesterday - but never jam today. Edited 7 Jul 06, 9:09 PM by redcat | |

If you decide to go down the pineapple route remember you need to eat 7 fresh ones to start to get the enzyme from them that 'supposedly' helps... Apparently tinned pineapple does not contain the same enzyme either so it has to be the fresh ones... Personally I'm a cynic and don't believe many of the old wives tales, she will come when she's ready and thats it The heat is terrible right now but just try and concentrate on keeping cool... I know it's easy to say but try and forget your due date is so many days and weeks away, it will only annoy you more. Fingers crossed something happens for you soon, for both of us... Been getting the really bad crampy period pains myself but I know that they are Braxton Hicks... My midwife predicted I wouldn't go beyond 38 weeks due to the size of the baby but after all the breech stuff things really seemed to have slowed down... This baby is definately taking it's time to get here... And yes I am rambling because I don't want to sleep cos the dreams are too scary tonight... Big hugs xxx |
