Ok i hold my hands up and admit i bite my nails, really badly and they do look awful but i want to stop.
i need ideas that are practical as the dummy worked for a while but wasn't practical to carry it round my neck/wrist at all times.
And for all those smart arses out there...............just don't bite isn't an option and i've tried nasty tasting products and i just get used to them.
I have nooooooooooooo willpower

Try splashing out on a manicure and get acrylic nails put on. They'll look so fabby and you won't be able to bite them. Meanwhile your real nails should be growing underneath so when they're removed you'll have kicked the habit.

Fab idea bridget. Just don't get them too long. You won't be able to do anything. I tried them once and it's the best form of self imposed chastity I've come accross.

I've had false nails put on before but i tend to not be able to do much once i have them on and with my job that is very awkward. Also when they come off my real nails are even weaker and kinda ugly so not much improvement unless i'm going to just keep acrylics on all the time.
Thanks for the ideas so far though

I used to use a dummy instead of the rabbit foot thing but i was constantly doing it as i'm always biting and i didn't want the dummy to become a new habit. But may have to try something different and see what happens. The reward process is a good idea and may be worth a go but we can only see.
