A simplified explanation of my understanding of the tarot card 6 of cups is that it represents past acts of kindness returning - on my tarot decks it shows children giving gifts.
I had a moment like that today.
Walking along the high street to the supermarket, I was stopped by an elderly gentleman who said, "Excuse me, I've seen you about the place from time to time. It was about 3 years ago outside ******* Post Office, you were the first person to say hello to my puppy, and I've remembered your kindness ever since."
Well, it's a bit of an odd thing for someone to say out of the blue, even if it was a gloriously warm, sunny day and a sense of wellbeing and bonhomie everywhere.
Still, it was an excuse for a conversation, and we passed a few words on the way to the shop (apparently the puppy has grown into a fine bitch - now, why when he first said puppy and then said bitch, was I instinctively thinking of a submissive, not a canine?
)
Now, three years is an awfully long time for me to remember anything, and a chance encounter with a stranger is not something to stick with me for very long. Still, I figure if you're going to be remembered by complete strangers, being remembered for kindness and being friendly to their puppy, is a pretty good reason!
So, that was my "6 of Cups" moment.
