Sorrow on a sunny day (2)

I was talking to a close friend the other day and my friend is unfortunately awaiting some awful news. I am not sure how i would cope if it was me. I think that seeing a loved one die slowly must be awful, thankfully I have never been in that situation. I will be there for my friend as a shoulder when that time comes.

When you hear news like this it makes you realise how lucky you are to be alive and how every day should be lived to its full potential.

There are many things i am thankful for one of the key ones is that I managed to talk to my father the day before he died, i never talked to him that often and for some reason I did. I just wish i got the chance to say bye to him properly, I never did. He has been on my mind a lot lately and I still miss him. People say that it gets easier to cope with grief with time, but I have to disagree, the heartache may dull with time, but it is always there.

A very close friend of mine also died many years ago and lately i have been thinking about him also. Unfortunately he took his life, I tried to call him the day he died. I often wondered why he did it, he never asked for help and was loved by many people.

There are many things in life that baffle us, I guess that they are all part of the great tapestry of life.

Fraid so love, and we're all portrayed. You're not on your own.

Lots of love

every single one of us has a similar story to tell - my brother died when he was 34 - he had been ill for a year - during that time we got to have lots of long chats, hugs and tears (especially when we found out it was terminal) - that was 13 years ago (how is that possible - seems like yesterday)

i miss him dreadfully (still) but what he taught me is that life is for living - stress? - ditch it!! - enjoy every day instead - he spent most of his twenties lurching from one stressful situation to another - what was the point of that?

i try to ensure i go to bed each evening with a smile on my face remembering the good things that have happened that day - it works - believe you me!!

the bottom line is though - we all get through it - that is how it is meant to be - the frailities of being human I was talking to a close friend the other day and my friend is unfortunately awaiting some awful news.
