...what outfit/toy/book/experience etc... would you HAVE to have? What would you class as value for money and an absolute essential around which everything else - including experience - could be built in time? Not all of us have a savings account, income stream or insurance policy/premium bonds win when we are starting out. And the array of goodies to choose from can be somewhat bewlidering to say the least! Also, I know what my wishlist was several years ago, and I know how different it would be now with hindsight. So although I enjoyed spending the money at the time...somtimes I DO wish I'd chosen slightly differently. So, out of interest (and also because I thought it might genuinely be of use people), what would you HAVE to have if your budget was limited to within each of the following catagories - £25 £50 £100 £150 £250 ---------§----------- |

£25 A little flogger A wooden spoon Pegs A riding crop from the discount bin at a saddlery (far sturdier anyway) I just got some fun little suction cups in a discount bin for a fiver so I'll add those to my list. £50 A strap-on and harness (though I managed to grab my harness in the discount bin too! I'm Scottish and Jewish, what do you expect???) £100 Another couple of floggers A nice paddle Some good restraints £150 Corset (Bouncy, bouncy, bouncy and they're also great fun to put my sub in as I can then use the laces as a lead rope or restraints.) £250 A holiday... Okay... I never have a spare £250 so I've never really thought about it. The moral of all these stories, check out discount bins and sales because sometimes you'll find exactly what you were looking for at less than half the price... Or maybe I'm just lucky. £25 A small flogger, something in suede or a medium leather. Nice and versatile, and because I'm a flogger whore. Definately from a fetish market rather than sex shop so I would know it had a chance of lasting. £50 If I was starting from being a newbie a copy of The Topping Book as this taught me so much when starting out. Collar and leash for DS fun. A riding crop. Some rope. £100 Some padded, comfortable cuffs and trigger clips. A paddle, and a stingy evil flogger to add to the range. A blindfold. £150 A ring gag. Nipple clamps. Feathers. Wax play candles. Dog bowl for more DS fun. A fun dommy outfit including patent platform boots. £250 An adjustable skirt and leather pin thong for male subs for a bit of dressing up time fun. The rosewood flogger from here http://www.freakclubwear.co.uk/equipment/somethi... as they are so beautiful and a sensual flogger would compliment the above range nicely. A few different riding crops. A visit to a fetish fair and see what tempts me... And a night out to Scarlet. Do I have to stop there? Or can I start agin the next month...Too many pretty things to buy. Haven't even got round to rubber yet... Luckily kit bags and wardrobes are something you can keep adding to over time when you can afford it so over time you can amass a large collection without breaking the bank at any one time. After 8 years of shopping and budget varying hugely over the years I have amassed quite a collection and it is still growing. You can never have too many toys and outfits and shoes.... £25 - 2 gorgeous floggers from Jack's Floggers ('cause he's sooo reasonable
£50 - Leather cuffs, chains from Rapid Hardware, some small throwing knives and a pinwheel. Yes, you can get all that for £50
£100 - A big shopping spree to Ikea and a hardware store to buy all sorts of touchy-feely and stingy-smacky bits and bobs. Plus a gag and some rope (there'd be loads of money left over £150 - More floggers! And a corset. £250 - Another corset, a couple of skirts and some books, probably The Bottoming Book and Screw the Roses.

£25
A trip to B&Q: pegs, chain, bars, rope etc. £50 Add leather cuffs plus a decent cane. £100 A Decent pair of handcuffs, locks for the leather cuffs and a ball gag £150 Needles and antiseptics first aid etc. Decent butt plug and dildo (latex). £250 Medical toys (speculum, anal spreader), rubber flogger, knife. - all of this would depend on clever shopping as well: it coudl easily cost twice as much at each stage without that. - Chris

Hmmmnn - good choices all round so far. From my point of view anyhow if you are a "clever" shopper and know where to get good stuff for not much dosh, how about posting some links along with yr list? I'll fill mine out later after some sorting out some dreaded paperwork.... Ms B

Starting out as a new subbie, find a Dom with an inventive mind and spend the money on sexy clothes (and boots, obviously). £25 - sexy mini and shiny boots (my first ones came from Matalan for £15 and are still my favourites) £50 - add a lace up bustier and start spending on stockings £100 - must have corset but thigh length boots a very close second £150 - all the above and thigh length boots! (can never have too many) £250 - made to measure corset, lots of PVC, fun shopping trip... Some of the best toys are found at home. Twisted up bath towels are heaven to me and we still get plenty of fun from a set of ropes I salvaged from an old hanging chair and H turned into a flogger (part of it made a good spreader bar too). Silk scarves for bondage, bits of fabric for sensation play, blindfolds from long haul flights, pegs (unfortunately). Hairbrushes and perfume bottles have made inventive dildos in the past. Must have toys, a darkly inventive mind and a good suede flogger - soft enough for warming up and heavy enough for thuddy play. Spending a little more, I'd add a crop from a riding shop and nice cuffs before buying loads more floggers! Nina
