Poltergeist John again (4)

ShadowCaptain's profile . ShadowCaptain's homepage

A couple of weeks ago I lost my cheque book, with a cheque in it for paying in.

I'd gone to town to pay it in, found the bank was closed, so brought it back home and put it in the kitchen on the shelf support.

Couple of days later when I thought about going back to the bank couldn't find it.

Not on the shelf support where I was sure I'd put it. Very puzzled. :(

Searched all my coats and other pockets, turned out the linen bin, looked in the cars, under all the seats, turned out ALL the drawers in the house, including the kitchen ones. Looked in all the box files in case it had got mixed up with the accounting stuff when I did the VAT returns.

I've been looking on and off for it ever since, every time I go into a room I'll absent-mindedly look for the cheque book. Was sure I'd put it on the shelf support in the kitchen.

Gave up on Wednesday, went to the bank, ordered another cheque book. Was thinking yesterday about having to write off and getting the cheque replaced that was with it to pay in.

New cheque book arrived yesterday.

I walk into the kitchen later on - folded up on the shelf support right near the door, in full view, the cheque book with cheque in the back for paying in. Exactly where I thought I'd left it. =-o

Thank you John - most appreciated.

Now if the wallet that I 'lost' in Blackpool four years ago were to suddenly be found in the bottom of a drawer I'd be happy to regard that as a miracle. :-D

You never know, stranger things have happened. You could try speaking to John, acknowledging a presence is sometimes a way to stop manifestations.

If anyone offers you vanilla sex, just say No.

Yes - I do speak to him sometimes. I also ask for things back, sometimes it works, sometimes not, and sometimes things will reappear weeks afterwards so you never know whether they were brought back because you asked or whether they would have come back anyway.

He seems completely harmless, never causes any problems, just takes things and puts them back after some indeterminate time, usually in the same place, but not always.

He followed me here from another house where he used to do the same thing, but he doesn't seem to be stuck here as he has caused funny things to happen in houses nearby :-D

I'm not sure if are sharing the same poltegeist or if i have one of my very own. I mean I know we share most things sweetheart, but isnt a disembodied spirit taking it a tad far?

At least he did return my library book last night even if it was in the bath. And no, i wasnt sleepwalking again.
