So, for my 2000th post, I thought that I should perhaps do something that I don't usually. Be honest and open. Well, I am habitually honest (there's not a lot of point otherwise), but I'm not habitually open. To be honest (since it's not my modus operandi) I'm not entirely comfortable about being open. I mean, although this is my personal space, other people might read it. And although I'm not superstitious in the slightest (I've owned, and been on better than nodding terms with, black cats, I've broken the odd mirror, spilled salt and not chucked it over my shoulder, I directed a school production of the Scottish Play and freely repeated the title), I have a sense that when you're open about things, they tend to go tits up. So I suppose this could best be described as a “slightly ajar”, rather than open, blog.
Anyway, here goes.
Dear diary,
I spent a delightful Saturday evening on the South Bank, talking, discussing, debating, sharing, smiling, laughing. Actually, it was better than delightful, it was the nicest evening I've spent since March 18. If only trains didn't stop running at a stupidly early hour.
So there you have it. A blog of enormous moment. A milestone. Still not saying a great deal though. One day maybe.

Saturday sounds lovely. Happy 2000th. xxxxx Easy? You men have no idea what we're dealing with down there. Teeth placement, and jaw stress, and suction, and gag reflex, and all the while bobbing up and down, moaning and trying to breathe through our noses. Easy? Honey, they don't call it a job for nothin'! |
