It's partly my submissive nature that makes me crave rules in my life, but I'm sure my pedantic disposition is also a factor. I feel more secure, more at peace and so more productive and creative when my day is circumscribed. This, I guess, seems somewhat counter intuitive, as rules and regulations are generally regarded to be the enemy of creativity. For me though, it's the lack of a framework that stifles imagination.
Right from the beginning of my journey I have had certain principles which governed my behaviour and, in particular my interaction with Dominas. These principles are based on how I conduct myself in “real life”: polite, respectful and obliging, but somewhat exaggerated and with added deference. With those Dominas that I have been lucky enough to get to know, my manner evolves further to reflect the esteem in which I hold them.
I have reached a point where I am content with the “type” of submissive I have become and I'm reasonably sure that the guiding principles that I now try and live by are both complementary and necessary.
Of course, I am speaking as a submissive, without an Owner, trying to capture some of the delights of the imposition of another's will though internal means. If I'm ever fortunate enough to find the One, it will be Her principles that I will live by.
If and until that happy day arrives, I have my own self development to attend to, and as part of that I am going to attempt to formulate the principles that will continue to guide my behaviour into a number of Commandments.
Writing them down here will not only satisfy my persnicketiness, it will also serve as a record that I can look back on and laugh at when I grow up a bit.
I'm afraid that my pedantry requires that I have a few rules about the rules.

Rules about the Commandments 1. They may be called Commandments, but they're not really. They are principles that I will strive to live up to; but if I fail occasionally, I won't beat myself up. 2. How I interact with anyone will always be a two way street; I will always be respectful, friendly and interested at the outset, but that will continue only if it is reciprocated. 3. My natural inclination is to defer to a Domina, but that doesn't mean I will defer to anyone who calls themselves a Domina. 4. There will be more rules. |
