Hi,

Just a thought, since I have some experience in these matters. You've said - in the other thread I think - that your friend has had to clear Ethics Committee hurdles and suchlike. If this is the case, and I don't doubt for one moment that it it is, then anyone choosing to take part in the survey should have access to ethics guidelines, or at least see an acknowledgment from your friend that the relevant hoops have been jumped through, be given a supervisory contact name / address, and so on.

As it is I can't cook up any cookies to see if these things have in fact been included on the survey...

:)

i just did it, there were a couple of the questions i wasn't happy with, wasn't sure how to answer, but on the whole it was quite good.

If anyone offers you vanilla sex, just say No.

I actually found it offensive and it appeared to come from someone with preconceived ideas that sadism and sick minds go together. I stopped after the first couple of pages so it might have changed in style however from what I saw it was nasty.

Be careful what you wish for

It did seem to be coming at it from a mental illness perspective, but there was nothing in it I found offensive - I don't see particular issues in querying (fairly common) perceptions of the whys and wherefores of those of us with a wiggly approach to sexual mores.

I felt that it was, in fact, an open mind. You of course, and others who completed the survey had/have the chance to agree / disagree at various levels with the variety of questions asked.

Looked at from that perspective you have the opportunity to disprove what you are now considering are preconceived ideas.

I completed the questionnaire, and would be really interested to find out his conclusions, since I have a real interest in the psychology of BDSM at the moment myself (trying to understand my own head! lol!)
