I was greeted at the door by MRK & given a label with my IC name on it. I went to the bar, got a drink and stood there looking at the small groups of people feeling like a complete outsider. OKAAAAAAAAY - now what?
MRK to the rescue: "Did I know anyone" I didn't. "No one from IRC or MSN or" Negative to all these. OKAAAAAAAAY - now what?
MRK introduced to ^Mythy^ me who introduced me to Purple, Red aka The Lady with three leashes and Cerberus. Well, I might not know them but I'd seen weblog entries from the latter two. They hadn't seen mine. OKAAAAAAY - now what?

Wellll - I'll give you three guesses 
By the time the pub was closing (and where had the time
flown I hadn't realised it was so late) I was feeling
very relaxed. I had signed up for a flogging workshop,
acted as "Dame Protector" to another first-timer 
,
waved her off with a knight in black leather - feeling
a bit like Cupid's little helper 'cos I'd given him my
seat so they could get better acquainted- seen some
nice toys - not the right word, p'raps I mean
equipment -(?), swopped stories, shared drinks and
spoken
with several people I recognised from IC & some I
didn't.
All in all I'd had an enjoyable time and I couldn't wait to text X and poppet (btw for those who have looked up his id - he is lysas-poppet on yahoo not poppet on aol. And no he isn't serving two Mistresses, Lysa is/was my on-line id prior to coming out of the closet & going live) about my experience & tease them for not coming with me.
Actually, I'm glad neither of them were able come this first time. If they had I'm pretty sure I'd have ended up in a corner with them - observing without joining in. And that would have been a great pity.
