So I've had a lot of work to do lately and with my birthday coming up and the extra cash coming in I thought I'd do some shopping. A new watch, new shoes, new suit and a portable playstation later and I'm feeling pretty good.
Then I get home, put my new shoes on, and first thing that happens to them after dinner is they get splotted with fucking sunflower oil whilst washing up. Brown suede. Fucked.
Needless to say I was fucking livid with no real direction to unleash said anger in. After all it was pretty much pure bad luck. Ruined my day it has.
I fully expected the shoes to get mucky sooner or later though. Would have been nice for them to look good more than a couple of hours though. ![]()
I'm going to get some cheese to go with this whine.

You need to get a pastry brush, dip it in some warm sunflower oil and carefully fill in the gap left by the previous oil splodge on your new shoe. Just make sure that you paint the other shoe liberally too so that the colours match. Actually ... DONT DO THAT! (It's a joke and i was hoping that someone could come up with a vinegar remedy or something) Hard cheese. godiva{P}

That thought occured as a possible last resort. I've been searching the internets though and it seems that basically rubbing the hell out of the stain with sandpaper or a roughish cloth works. I thought I'd give that a shot and things are looking a lot better. The stains sort of gone, leaving just a darkish area on the front of the shoe, which I reckon should be fixable if I can find out what this thing called the 'nap' is and find a way to raise it. Assume it must be the fuzziness. Wish they'd not overcomplicate so much.

you could rub off the nap entirely - turn them into leather and shine them up with Mr Sheen. nighty night godiva{P}

Fill bowl with sunflower oil - dunk whole shoes in. Ta-dah! one uniformly coloured pair of suede shoes.
This approach did however leave me once with a stunning pair of 'blue suede shoes' having stepped off a ladder straight into a pot of paint. Ooops |
