"Ray is Grass".
The other children were shocked when they discovered that their classmate was in fact a plant.
He was a plant in the sense of being made of vegetable matter, and that he was working for the Venusian Tree People.
Their suspicions were first aroused when Ray had refused to take part in the normal playground games and had insisted on just standing barefoot in the dirt - swaying slightly in the breeze.
They were further alarmed when he started drinking Baby Bio plant-food at lunchtime instead of Irn Bru like the other kids.
Things came to a head when he enveloped their teacher in a web of roots and fibrous wood-like material while screeching "Come now brave Venusian Tree People! Attack! Attack!"
The children tried to flee, but most were never heard of again.... One brave boy managed to scrawl a warning to other children before he was taken.....
