Kinklusive Klinic and helping to overcome phobias (9)

No i haven't overcome mine but this weekend has really made me think.
I have a needle phobia and just being near a needle freaks me out, yet i went along to the Kinklusive Klinic. Now i know that may have not been the most sensible idea but along i went anyway.
I had a great time and the whole thing was very informative and most of all fun. I managed to sit in the needles workshop and i didn't run away or cry. I have to thank nims and singlesnowdrop for their help holding my hand through it and helping me. Calming me down and at one point they both had a needle either side of me. I may have sat rigid with a dummy in my mouth but at least i sat there and at the very end got myself a staple. Not quite a needle but its on the way. Many thanks to Seraf for that.
i really want to overcome this as certain people want to stick pointy things in me and i want to be able to let them. And i want to do it for me, i don't want to be so scared.
i don't know what the next step is but i know i want to take it. Edited Tue 15 Nov 05, 12:02 AM by darkdollie

Just to give you a little hope i'm VERY needle phobic outside of play.
Inside of play, I LOVE needles, and hell, having a staple is a HUGE step, I only did that at the beginning of this year and i've been doing needles for something like 7 years now!
Congrats on going to the Klinic, it IS a very big step, and its alot worse (certainly for me) watching them, than having them Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take. But by the moments that take our breath away

Good call on having Seraf do your staple, He's someone I wouldn't hesitate in trusting, I have a great deal of respect for him, He's fangtasticccccc and a very very cool person too (oh and gorgeous subbie!)

O M G That made it sound like I was saying he was a gorgeous subbie, instead of HAVING a gorgeous subbie! I wasn't bratting honestly! *runs and hides and looks a bit scared!* Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take. But by the moments that take our breath away

Be afraid, very afraid!
Although I read it as you were talking about me as I know you arent silly enough to call Seraf it!
You almost got one of my famous full hand flapping blush for that comment though
Seriously though well done on working towards your needle phobia. There was a reason I wasnt a pin cushion...im scared of them too although I've got much better over the last year. However as someone pointed out to me so I feel I should do the same. Staples actually hurt more than needles! Its to do with them being shallow in the skin so hitting all the nervy bits (I dont do the science!)
Personally though staples dont look like needles so I totally understand why there easier as a first step. Well done Its coming ...... http://www.kinklusive.org.uk/
