It's been ages since I went to a fetish event, and I'd never been out on the scene with T before - or as part of a couple, really - so that experience in itself at Kinklusive was exciting and intimidating in equal measures.
Adalia, elderflower and I made our way over to Manchester from our beloved little white house of student kink in Leeds early on Saturday morning, and twopointedstar and ToTheDark came over from York to meet us.
It was the perfect event to take fetish newbies to, so warm and welcoming was everyone and everything about the day. I've only been to Lash once (reminder to self: trip must be repeated) and had forgotten what a fantastic venue it is for kinky activities. The workshops worked very well in the three separate demo areas and as I'd anticipated, the diversity of what was on offer meant we were dashing between rooms to try and get a taste of EVERYTHING! Particularly delicious were The Leather Family's talk on playing with fear (my most favourite dish...), which had me gawping occasionally in fascination, thoughts of playing with sound and black boxes (yum), Violently's head bondage demo, and BlueVelvet and Cerberus' single-tail workshop. I've seen and experienced a couple of whip demos before and found the idea and feel of them fascinating and scary, but never terribly erotic. It was nice to be proved wrong so instantly!
We managed to squeeze in a bit of kink shopping and browsing, and bought a couple of toys that had their first proper outing this morning, too... T is apparently now overflowing with evil and kinky agendas thanks to the workshops and stalls, and I'm looking forward to thanking people personally when I inevitably discover what they are...
Thanks mostly to people who made the day event so special. I was loaded with hideous flu (huge apologies if I sneezed or blew my nose rather violently during your demo/in your face), so we were unable to get to any of the clubs around the main day event (the old student loan isn't so fetish friendly...), but I'm left hungry to learn and experience so much more.
Also thanks to the lovely people I got to catch up with and see again, or met for the first time. As I have a reputation for being 'formidable' (apparently...), it might surprise anyone I didn't greet loudly to know that I'm crippingly shy when it comes to meeting people for the first time, so thank you to anyone who was brave enough to come up and say, "Aha! la verte, yes?" and apologies to anyone who probably thought me capable of doing the same. I will try harder next time. Also thank you to the many people who complimented my corset! It is most grateful and flattered and dying for another outing.
I came away from the day buzzing, still sneezing and coughing, but thoroughly inspired and, most of all, gagging for more. Erm, please?

It was! And I could! It was lovely to put a face to a name of someone who sent me such a kind memo really soon after I first joined IC. Carry on buzzing.

You too! Albeit a little fleetingly. I'm sorry we didn't make it to the Retro bar; it turned out food was a long way across town! Hope to meet again soon.
