What a great night. We calculated that around 60 people turned up. It was a pleasure to meet you all. Thanks, as well, to everyone who helped to shift the furniture afterwards - our lovely landlady, Becky, will be spending the night sealing the floorboards so it'll be even nicer on our return.
Here's to many more *raises a mug of tea to toast Mike for his sterling efforts* xxx Lika

I've never been much of a muncher but I was sorry I didn't see this sooner — as in before the event. And that's not just the promise of chocolate cake, honest! I used to really like the Brickies, years ago when it was a bikers' boozer. I'm sure there's a joke about leather in there someplace but ... I can't help wondering if the grafitti in the ladies' loo is as 'interesting' as it used to be. And don't ask how I know. Just trust me. Some of it made me blush and I'm usually so unshockable as to be nuke-proof. O the joys of nostalgia! Maybe next time.

Sorry to disappoint you Tom - there is no longer any graffiti in the ladies loos. Instead they are bright and clean with fresh flowers in a vase. The original graffiti will probably be discovered by buildings historians someday in the future. I went to the Bricklayers a few times in its biker days. Can't remember much about the ladies loos in those days but, then again, I can't really remember much about those days...
Do come along to a future Putney Munch and create some new memories to go with the old xxx Jade When you're lying on the floor spread-eagled... |
