So many topics to blog about, so little time to write them. I had planned to write something several days ago, and I'd even started scribbling something down, but got sidetracked, as so often happens.
So, this is just going to be a quick one to get something off my chest. Do I think it'll make a blind bit of difference? Well, no. I'm an idealist, but a realist too.
The thing that bugged me this evening was people who don't bother reading my profile. Now, I don't claim to have the most finely honed profile; in fact it's probably a bit of a mongrel. But it has been tweaked following comments by some very kind and helpful people on IC who took the trouble to make constructive criticism. It's not so long, hopefully tells a bit about me, and what I want, and what I don't want.
One addition since the first draft, suggested by a very kind person I chatted to, was the part about not wishing to meet people more than an hour's travelling time away. I know people have relationships stretching over considerable distances, but I can't see that making sense to me, so this seems a reasonable limit. So why would someone message me who's in Newcastle? Not that there's anything wrong with Newcastle, but if anyone can make it from there to SE London in an hour, I'd be impressed (door to door, on the ground, for the smart alecs reaching for the OAG Flight Guide - being in the air isn't much help!).
And while writing this, I then get another message from someone in Derby - another perfectly nice place, but equally tricky within an hour.
So, I ask myself: what is the point in filling in anything in a profile that might help a person to know whether there is a possibility of making a suitable D/s match, when they either don't read it or choose to ignore it?
(BTW, these are rhetorical questions! And I know everyone has the same problems and most more so that I. I'm just blowing off steam. Hey ho, now that feels better.)

I can't read lips, I'm dyslexic On your own profile though, I believe you should say exactly what you want it to say. Mine says UK only because I get memos from men all over Europe, and though I don't mind relocating in the UK, I do not want to leave the country just yet.
So if prefer your partners to be within one hours drive of you, then you should feel free to say so Just my two euro's worth ... NO2ID | |
