Let us be quite clear this is a populist move by politicians. However, there is a consultation process that must be gone through: http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/docs4/Consultation_... Read the document itself, not pre digested media crap. Then read it again. Note the suggested option. Respond carefully to the questions asked and let your own views be known. No amount of chat room ranting will make any difference. This will. |

Quite. The big problem seems to be that they are very happy to use definitions of serious injury that really aren't serious injury at all. Bruising, breaking the skin and the like. I shall be sending a very carefully worded letter to them, written in a way that they are more likely to take note of. When writing to these people, do take care to send a message they will not simply ignore and marginalise. Banning all violent sexual imagery outright is a terrible idea. Convincing those who have no experience of it is one that requires substantial eloquence. |

If people go to the headline link here:
http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/inside/consults/cur... They will be able to download the consultation response form. Responses need to be in by December second. - Chris Old member names: Backdoor, 1999-2002; Notvelvet, 2003-2004; Thought, 2004-2005. |
