I believe I've had a nasty case of the runs from polish. I used to serve a gnetleman who liked me to apply the polish to his shoes for the office with my tongue - I have to say it's not a particularly effective way to get a good shine. Of course after pointing this out he had me tongue clean his golf shoes for my insolence. After that boots and street shoes are easy!
