Grrrrrrrr - I don't know whether I'm coming or going! Moving house is not fun - especially when going from a three bedroomed semi with a garage to a two bedroom flat with no garden or garage. Combine that with the fact that I'm wanting to get some work done to the flat when I move in - new kitchen, new bathroom and new gas central heating = one stressed SimplyD!

I'm at the stage of not quite knowing to do first - I need to get rid of a whole heap of furniture - dining table and chairs, Oak wardrobe and Dresser, Bureau, Desk, Cocktail cabinet - and that's before I attempt to further declutter! I'm determined not to take ONE thing with me that is not absolutely essential - but I hate having to throw things out - I just don't have time to eBay them or even car boot - Guess they will be going to a worthy cause - the charity shop :) - I just seem to be left with sooo much stuff that even the charity shop wouldn't want! (I've just had a couple of trips to the dump with two car loads)

It's just amazing how much stuff it is possible to accumulate - somehow I need to find room for - my art stuff - my sewing stuff - my photography stuff - my camping stuff - my cooking and baking stuff - why can't I have hobbies that take up less room? And just don't get me started on Fet stuff!! (oooh yeah and my new latex ootfit arrived today - yipppeeee - hmm am I not meant to be getting rid of things?)

Have I mentioned that I'm stressed yet? I've been trying to fit in a few phonecalls while I'm at work to moving companies - well that and storage companies - somehow I think it might be easier putting my things into storage for a while - until I get all the decor and refurb done in the new flat - I'm just can't make up my mind on anything at the moment! - Do I store? Do I not? - Am I going to be left in a bare flat waiting for weeks whilst I get the 'new kitchen' 'new bathroom' and 'new heating' sorted?

AAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGG!!! Anyone got a magic wand that can just whisk everything away?

You'll have to forgive me for smiling, my move is happening over the next few days from a 3 bedroom flat to a 1 bedroom flat with a teenager and I've done the stress thing. I don't do stress, but it did catch up with me a little on this one.

It all sorts out eventually. My new place is going to look like a warehouse for a while, the kitchen is smaller than my old closet, but one adapts as needed.

Just keep doing what's necessary one thing at a time. Got more sorting and packing to do tomorrow myself...

Oh yes, and my phone line won't be active until 8th September.

Ariane

Relax, nothing's under control.

As per usual you want everything done yesterday.

Give yourself some breathing space woman. The stuff you definitely don't want or can't use ...get rid.

the stuff you think you might use or want ....put in storage.

See!!!! simple really SimplyD

Thanks folks for all your support - Countess - good luck with your move :)

caras - of course it is all downboy's fault - no doubt there!

janie - such wise words - All you need is latex - dum dum dooby doo ;)

redwine - yeah I know - others have pointed out the 'wanting everything done yesterday trait' with mutterings about 'perfectionist' and a few other choice phrases ;)

Anyways thanks to everyone for listening to my rantings - and helping me with a few decisions here and there - and offers of garage space etc - It's much apprecitated :)

Now where did I pack that subbie of mine??
