I remember, in times gone past, when the lighting of candles and group hugs were order of the day when a disaster happened to IC folk. If fact it didn't need to be a disaster, a broken fingernail along with a broken heart all brought a flurry of lit candles and hugs. This seems to have been a fad, as when it's my turn, we seem to have run out of candles to light and hugs to electronically transfer.
My disaster?
Bloody cat's gone missing. Yep, he's a thankless, flee ridden nuisance who only ventures in when it's feeding time. He hunts you out and complains constantly until he's fed, he then moves on to the next person. He's not affectionate and will not spend any time with us. We have a regular supply of dead things brought into the house, and as the whole house is carpeted in cream, the cat likes to spread their blood just as far as it will go. I've also had a supply of live things brought in and dropped at my feet – not pleasant at all.
Still, I'm starting to worry. Mini is home on Sunday and I'd rather not have to explain to her about cat heaven and the such like.
So, please can we have an abundance of candles lit, (ok electric light bulbs or cigarettes will do) and hopefully the mangy moggy will return.

Re-reading my post, maybe I don't come across as the sensitive animal loving person that I so obviously am. It's distress I assure you.

Cats are such fickle creatures and yours will probably turn up, complete with an offering, and disdainfully eat some food as though nothing is amiss, as soon as Mini me returns home. The one thing I would suggest doing before she gets back is checking your neighbours garages / sheds if you haven't already done so.
I will also, since you asked, light a candle or three. Well any excuse for a lit flame and some dripping wax Darkness covers everything. | |
