So what is it about with the NHS????
i wait 5 months to get an appointment with a specialist, which is in 2 months time... i go to the appointment. They tell me to come back in 6 months time..
In the mean time, the problem stays the same..
Then the 6 months appointment is getting closer and they send you a letter saying... **sorry the consultant cant make your appointment... please come in another 6 months time***!!!!!
Now what is that about... i could understand it if they said.. He cant make the appointment in September (yes i know i am wishing away the months!!), but he can do one say October... But what is an appointment in March about.. Now thats one hell of a holiday or conference!!!
Its a good job i am not dying!!!! Remind me why i pax tax again!!!
* Grins *
Seems like i have been doing alot of whinging recently... Hmmmm something positive to tell Y/you... *thinks*...
Nope cant think of anything.. Y/you guys will just have to wait and see... *grins*..
Stay pervy!!!!

Or more likely cancelling appointments so he can do private work. Me, cynical - never! This will hurt you more than it hurts me.

It's what they do to fiddle the figures so they can meet our beloved government's target figures. this way they can say you are only waiting 6 months from the appointment being sent. Ring the trust and demand to speak to the chief exec. You wont get to but you may get to speak to the on-call manager who **may** try and get you tacked on to the end of a clinic sooner rather than later (using words like "the press" and "ombudsman" could help here.....they hate bad publicity) It worked for me about 10 years ago so it's gotta be worth a shot. Best of luck J

I feel your pain. I've been visiting the doctors since January trying to get fixed, and my initial big set of tests was scheduled for next year! I've seen consultants, four different GPs, and been to hospital twice for x-rays and other random tests. Now I'm waiting until October for something new to happen, at which point I will have been signed off from work for around 5 months. I'm not dying either, but life is pretty sucky till I can get fixed. *ugh*

Hi Babe, it's true, this is how they manipulate the figures. Also your Trust is overspent and trying to reclaim as much of the budget as possible before the end of the year. Write and say it's unacceptable and you will be contacting the press, might find a quicker reply. Speak later Lucky
All the things I really like to do are either immoral, illegal or fattening. Lucky

The NHS is all but a good example of how a public health service should be run. I'm sorry to see that they are kicking you around from one appointment to another without anything happening. If you could send me a memo with a few details of for what you need the appointment, what kind of specialist and where you are, I might be able to help or to give you some advice on how to get your appointment faster and have it when promised. I'm not practicing at the moment in the UK, but I know the system and how it works and know the ways.
