JULY

27th: F&T Munch, Tayport

28th: Glasgow Munch

29th: DV8 Edinburgh

30th: Nightshade

31st: Newcastle Munch

We didn't get to the F&T Munch, we went into Edinburgh to meet some people instead. Quite interesting, and informative. More to come.

Glasgow munch was excellent, this munch has gone from good to better since it was moved to a venue where we have the room to ourselves. More newcomers each month, some saying they are nervous about going to a munch in a public bar when someone they know might be there. It doesn't matter how much you reassure them that it is A Munch, just a group of people out for a drink and a chat and a laugh. A group of people who want to meet others with whom they can talk openly and ask questions. We explain that to anyone looking on, we are no more than a HUGE group of friends, or perhaps a works outing (explains the differences in ages and the fact that some people don't appear to know others well) It does make the munch more relaxed when you don't have to worry about being overheard. (Or you can take along your new corset and get someone to put you in it properly! ;) ) Anyway, a fabulous evening, and no depraved acts despite SD's begging.

After the munch we had to go and collect some stuff, so I didn't get home until 2am, then up again at 7.30 to unload the stuff we'd collected and reload with work stuff. Yawwwn!

So I was quite tired at DV8 on Friday night. Being introduced to a man in chain mail perked me up a bit (Me? a chain mail/metal fetish? no way!) He let me feel it, touch it, run my hands over it and smell it. (The chain mail, you perverts! Honestly!) I tried not to drool as I didn't want to rust it. A friend put me on a little spanking horse and did scratchy things all over my back, it was heavenly, she has such sharp nails and knows just how hard to dig with them to keep me just lying there all floaty feeling. Then she said M, the chain mail guy, had asked if he could join in. I said "it depends on what he wants to do, but yes" So he started to drape the metal of his sleeves over the scratchy bits on my back, it felt lovely. After a bit of this, the organisers started trying to clear the dungeon area so I had to get up again.

Home late again (3am-ish) after collecting yet more stuff, but a long lie on Saturday made up for it. Until I suddenly woke and remembered I had to put together some music for Nightshade, so that drove me out of bed where I was lying all warm and cosy next to a warm man. I hate it when I have to get up and leave a man lying in my bed.

Nightshade: We started early, took all the equipment in and started building it. As it was all unfamiliar to us (equipment and venue) it took a long time. Then we had to dress the space to make it look as inviting as possible. A huge pile of cushions in one corner seemed to work well, although we did need a few low tables in there that the venue couldn't supply. At the end of it I stood back and said "This is horrible" but too late. We get one attempt each month at making it good, and then the changes and desired fixes have to be noted for the next month.

Luckily, when it got darker and the lights were on and it started to fill up with people dressed in rubber and leather and fanciful costumes, it looked a whole lot better and my super-critical thoughts didn't seem to be shared by many.

We know it wasn't right, we know we have to change things for next month, and we know we won't get it right next month either. Every month it is a constant strive to improve, to make it better to get it right, and each month we think maybe we got a little bit closer.

So if you're reading this, and you were at Nightshade last night, I'd love to know what you honestly thought of it, so we can improve it. We want your feedback, we want your comments, we want to make it better.

And lastly, the Newcastle Munch: We were planning on going to this, but we're knackered, we want a rest and the thought of 2.5 hours driving each way is (today) enough for us not to go. I'm going to have a long soak in the bath, when I can find my book and we'll resume our hectic social life in a few days. The hectic work life restarts tomorrow morning.

And now I wish I had waved my black chainmail at you!

I liked the cushions in the corner idea a lot .. although I didn't get there early enough to monopolise them.

What was the explosion early on in the evening by the way? Was it just a lamp/light?

It was a light. Gave me a scare at the time.

He was willing to hear confessions, although the penances might have included rude things :)

We were at Nightshades and we do like the new venue, the lighthouse has a good feel about it ....but maybe thats just me I have a thing about them, hmm , anyway swiftly moving on, I wish there had been more equipment, but I know you are sorting that out soon. The main problem for me was the cold after we had played it was freezing, which was why we left a little early. I am sure you will get everything sorted soon . We hope to be back again soon.

Who'd have thought it could be such a cold night in July huh? They did have some heating out, but obviously not enough to cope, but then most places retire their heaters for the summer months! Glas you enjoyed it apart from that and it was great to see you both again :)
