Summer rain (6)

Smartarse's profile

Posted by Smartarse on Wed 27 Jul 05, 8:23 PM to Smartarse's blog.

Took a little walk to the post box today. It was raining that soft summer rain you can walk about in all day and not really feel wet. I love that kind of rain. It makes me think of holidays and for some reason I thought of a holiday spent on water some years ago. Something about the quiet sound of the rain pattering.

I'll be down in Cornwall next week so maybe I can expect more of the same. Hope so. I hate being fried to a crisp sitting on a beach.

Not that fine rain that soaks you through, then?

(someone was going to say it - thought it might as well be me)

No, the antithesis of that rain.

Hi mate, just got back from Cornwall - there and back in one day, just the 542 miles. Never ever be in the outside lane if you see a very dirty green example of Solihull's finest coming up behind you with what looks like a deranged mafia fixer at the wheel. (Why do I say looks like?)

It's pissing down. Started about Gordano services and got wetter and wetter until you actually hit the sea which is drier than the rain.

Cornwall has been moved elsewhere and replaced by a wet and dismal traffic jam, little flash floods and ... er that's it I'm afraid, but I got done what I went there to do.

I love rain. I hate that oppressive heat we just had.

:)

T.

ps. Ta for the message, shame. Enjoy.

Hurrah! We all get to stay indoors and read our books.

It's Cornwall, where the trees grow in the direction of the wind. It's not called the rainy county for nothing. You'll be fine.

I know the kind of rain you mean!

I also like the thick blobby stuff that gets you soaked and love beaches when the sea is crashing and there is a storm brewing!

I also love the sunshine and swimming in warm sea... :-)
