I am wondering if anyone has tried appying oil to the backside before engaging in caning or other "contact" BDSM.It tends to "capture" the stroke of the cane and make it last those odd milliseconds more than if it hasn't been used. I realise it may not work or be everyones thing but for the price of a bottle of baby oil,it may be worth caning fans giving it a go. Who knows you may never go back to "dry" runs again !

I think for spanking it might work out OK, but this is the first time I've heard of the practise and I'd guess that it would make the canes very messy/sticky.
Baby oil I find is hard to get out of some fabrics, and I can't help wondering how it would affect leather-tipped riding crops, or canes.
If you have any experiences I'd certainly be interested in hearing of them ... |

Funnily enough, yes was playing around with baby oil a couple of weeks back, and yes it does work. I don't knoiw about crops, but it should not damage a bamboo based cane.
Also, encasding the intended target area in clingfilm will work just as well, if not better, and this has no side issue with staining. If life is so good, why do people die?

I'll try the clingfilm, never thought about using it, your'e right, oil shouldn't damage a rattan cane, (I soak mine in linseed occasionaly) !

Baby oil is a mineral oil. It's more likely to damage rattan than using natural oils - such as sweet almond or grapeseed. By the way, I know my stuff on oils - I'm a clinical aromtherapist |

Looks like I can carry on with the oil so long as I change to the grapeseed or sweet almond then ! Thanks for the tip, other caners please note ! Thanks AmberUK.
