Ok I'm hoping there is SOMEONE on here who can help me!
I'm looking for adult school uniforms - but not the sexy kind. Traditional stuff, ideally circa 1950s. Think St Trinitys, pinafore dresses, boater hats and suspenders... but the traditional kind.
Now, I know there is a shop on Walworth Road in London that specialises in traditional adult school girl clothing but I'm a little far away from London and I can't remember what it's called - and certainly can't find it on the web!
Does anyone have any links for stores that would provide something like this. I've looked on Ebay, it's not really what I'm looking for.
Thanks for your help!

An ordinary grey or black skirt (pleated for flounce!)with a white/pastel shirt and a tie is all that is required for a school uniform oufit. It can be worn with knee socks, ankle socks or stockings. Sort of St Trinians naughty schoolgirl type of thing? If you want a pinafore dress then you might find something in a fancy dress shop that would be suitable. Alternatively, have you browsed eBay?

I would also suggest Miss Prim , the Muir Academy....and keep checking on ebay. It takes patience, also check out the vintage bit...alternatively get a sewing machine. Edited 8 Apr 05, 10:33 PM by Ms_Eve_White

Ok I'm hoping there is SOMEONE on here who can help me! Bear in mind that if you're looking for the real deal original, they're pretty expensive now. Especially original school jackets with the metal embroidery badges on the breast pocket. I think a good motto would be "QUO VADIS DOMINE?"...all the latin i can remember. But it does, helpfully, mean "Where are you going Master?" You can pick up cheap pinafores in flea markets, customise jackets and get a decent look, but it will take time. Ebay is good for a quicker option. Local costumiers often have a selection for hire - check yell.com for your area. I'm obsessed with costume, but more the theatrical stuff, hence the interest. [/quote] Be very careful if you buy from HB Enterprises....I have bought stuff from there in the past and sadly to say its "a bit crap" would be an understatement. Ok my stuff was AB clothing...but it was awful - and the after sales service was none existent - she exploits AB's and takes their money without giving a care in the world. hugs dynamick xx To taste the sweet....I faced the pain I rise and fall.....Yet through it all this much remains I want one moment in time...When I'm more than I thought I could be. When all of my dreams...Are a heart beat away And the answers are all up to me

I've got a lotta stuff but I really want a St Trinian's outfit - the full deal, the dress, the stockings - and for it to look authentic! Again, thanks for the advice - I'll let you know how I get on! ;o)

Have a browse in ordinary school outfitters. Top End prices would be Aitken and Niven but also try woolworths if you are small. A&N used to have stuff on their website. David
