Random thoughts on what it is that makes me reply/not reply to messages.

I realise that not replying to a message is a terrible thing to do, because I know I hate it when it's done to me - even a 'no thanks' is better than an unbroken silence.

I'm obviously a bad person, and should be avoided. Ahem.

Anyway, here's me trying to think aloud to the things that put me off replying to particular messages.

I guess the first thing is that I'll never bother replying to somebody with an empty profile - in fact I like that collarme.com has the option to not even recieve message from empty profiles.

Sure writing profiles is hard, and I know that mine sucks, but not having put anything there is just not making any effort which is wrong.

Messages which are primarily 'tell me about what you want to do with me' - they get binned because 99% of the time the person making the request has not made any indication of what they like. I could start talking about htings they'd hate - and I dont know until I get the 'no thanks' back. It's a waste of time.

Kind related to the previous point is people who make no effort to connect with me mentally - Sure random sex is sometimes fun, but it's not great.

I guess it's like the people who make over-the-top demands/offers with no introduction. More than once I've had a message saying "Please let me live with you, I want you to castrate me." which will end up coming from somebody living in Dublin, or the outer hebrides - nowhere near local. *sigh*

and finally anybody that writes in txt speak gets a slap, and little respect.

I'm sure I could go on .. I'm sure other people have different criteria, and there are almost certainly others who respond calmly, politely, and rationally to even the most obvious trolls. I wish I had their patience.

Ahhh the text speak. I HATE it. If someone is writing an email or even a memo they have loads of room and the keyboard has lots of keys on it, why the *&%$**)( don't they use them?!? If I get someone trying to chat to me on IM using that I write back with no consonants, or I keep asking them to explain what it is they mean, depending on how much I want to toy with them or how much I can be arsed.
