Just watched a docu-film thingy on David Icke called 'Live at the Oxford Union', it was done in 2008 which again proves how out of date I always am honestly I could walk through a storm and still miss every drop of rain! Anyways I've reached a point in my life where even though I am passionate and fiercely opinionated I have added the ability to listen to an opposing view or opinion before I decide what I can take from it or whether I can form a counter argument based upon what I already know for myself, well I don't really argue I can just happily dismiss it once I have listened and understood all angles of what a person will say, some people may be assholes but do indeed come up with valuable ways of thinking which for someone like me is very useful indeed.
I'm not going to scour Wikipedia for all the facts on David Icke, I know he played in goal for Coventry City a few times and that the papers wrote something about turquoise being the colour of god or something, I don't pay too much attention to stuff that doesn't make much sense. I decided to watch this strangeness simply because he was presenting at the Oxford Union, Oxford University's debating centre and so it must have some credence right?
So I watched with a very open mind, he does state that it is information only and he is not trying to make anyone a 'believer' which sounds fair to me. So he sells the union out and begins with his presentation which starts off quite reasonable(ish) discussing economics and wars and puppet governments.....yeah David no news there then mate. He raises some points about the funding for both sides on WW2 by the same people.....yeah...we know. Directing this to the Freemasons he then decides that if there was something he would be credited to in his lifetime then it would be the term 'problem-reaction-solution' which is another term for 'Ordo ab Chao' which is a Latin term for 'order from/out of chaos' from a symbol of the 33rd Degree from the Masons...yeah.... you mean the WELL known principal that one can restore order from a mess? The he goes on to say that these sinister world-controlling bastards are trying to start wars to bring peace...you mean like the CIA always do?
His presentation is quite good I must admit, he is a very good raconteur indeed, he is quite flawless when ofcourse not being challenged but come on everyone is allowed a say aren't they? It is no mean feat to have to present to a room filled with aspiring students at one of the greatest Universities in the world let me tell you! I would applaud him for having the guts to go through with his belief and to go on his mission in the face of adversity or rather people ripping the piss out of him! Then again wasn't it this media exposure he laughs off a reason why he became the person he is? David Icke has written several books and spent many many hours 'researching' on the internet (as you do) for all his corroborating 'evidence'.
The worst part about this I found was he supported his view with mere anecdotal evidence for example Mr Einstein quoting that life was basically an illusion, ok so it must be true...yet Mr Icke began by saying that Truth is what was 'real' and not your opinion of it yet later says that 'reality' is how we decode signals telling us that we are in this world, likening it to the Matrix films and yet he is always saying that the 'illumiati' (another term for a group of Secret Societies which from what I read in a book was a breakaway group of Freemasons who sought to control the world by means of collaboration, you know, like the co-op) control how we think through the media and various other forms of illusory tactics........ SO.... If this was all 'true' then by his logic people like Mr Einstein were created by Secret Societies to TELL us we are being controlled by the very people who told him to....?
Confused? Yes quite. Mr Icke is just another self-styled eye opening Guru...like David Koresh (I wonder if they are linked by the name David?), I am not being unkind here but I think he is just being ego-centric and patronising by treating everyone as unforgivably thick, it's like saying “I have been on the internet and spoke to a couple of people and read some books and guess what! YOU are being blinded and controlled! YES I KNOW! But don't despair thicko I have all the evidence I need in the form of some people who quoted some stuff, also I did some half-baked presentation on powerpoint which PROVES that you are all as dunce as hell and I can be your saviour cos none of you read or think cos the illumanati won't let you.. no!”, he basically says he connected the dots.
As a theorist he is quite stupid, he is quoting what a million other people quote all the time and throughout the ages, there has always been groups of people who understand the world around them and how it can be manipulative if you take a step back to reflect, I can't bare people like David Icke because he is trying to re-badge and rehash patterns of thinking that are not new and in effect he is just hypnotising relatively clever people by way of linking ideas with reason, if it makes sense then it 'could' be true, 10/10 for effort but 0/10 for original thinking.
One thing that kind of gets to me about these type of theories about certain regimes being evil and controlling is that these regimes have throughout history been born out of the necessity of man and the need to control for one reason or another. It is basic maths when you look at the pattern of humankind, too many people in a small space will inevitably create brand new problems not at first envisaged of which have been shown to illustrate the possession of other land sometimes not welcomed....the result can sometimes be war or trade which has then been subjected to attack for gain etc etc. We never learn from History we only repeat simply because we are human, it's like asking a child not to put their hand on the stove cos you KNOW it hurts....they make the mistake because they are young and don't have an experience yet....repeat.
What my point is is that humankind has intelligence to overcome yet but with the physical constraints the world has and its limitations we are destined to keep treading the often dangerous paths of our forbearers and repeat those follies. Perhaps a group of people understood our deepest psychologies and decided 'we will not allow our people to go down those routes even if it impairs their apparent freedom', you may say 'who are they to decide?', well those people were the survivors of their kind, the Greeks, Romans, British, Spanish etc etc every conquering group made very intelligent moves and those moves were made by survivors of the human mind. Does that make sense to you?
Freedom or perceived freedom comes with severe cost for we are made of many Demons, sometimes for no reason we destroy, ego's of the great who are entrusted with power are self-corrupted by glutton and therefore make a decision based on lust to annihilate something or someone else, we do this all the time, we need to stop our own do we not? It's just a different way of understanding why we need enslavement from ourselves.
End of part one, dissection.
