After a couple of months when i've been unbelievably down, i'm trying to get back on the up. As those of you who know me well will understand, although I do get occasional bad times, i'm generally a cheery, optimistic old bird :-)

I have been wallowing in self pity, allowing bad things from my past to have an effect on me now. I normally keep the past where it belongs, things happen and you move on ....right?

Well it seems not, they are just dormant, waiting for a chance to surface, to influence today. I have been lost in self doubt, paranoia and fear, not much fun.

Well this week i'm making a change......FUCK the past...I won't let it influence the person I am today. Three things have helped, firstly I have changed the soundtrack to my life, i'm all topped up on happy music, not motivational by any means but stuff that makes me happy and i'm loving it! Secondly a random comment by a good friend on a totally unrelated subject but they said "it's all about the mindset" So true, if I am happy, I stay happy :-)

Thirdly (and I can't believe i'm saying this) was an interview with Alastair Campbell, he was asked if he worried about other peoples opinions of him "oh God no, I realise I can't control how people feel about me." That's the big one, I WANT people to like me but I CAN'T make them like me. The people that are in my life obviously want to be there and sometimes I might piss someone off but there is no point me worrying what's being said about me, my friends stay because they want to.

So to my friends, I love you all deeply and hopefully you will give me a chance to get back to the person I have been for the last 4 years or so, before the loony monster came knocking. :-)

Hope to hear your bouncey self soon..

Going to school does not make a person educated, any more than going to a garage makes a person a car
It is better to have wise people reprimand you than to have stupid people sing your praises

Sweetie,Im glad your picking up but dont beat yourself up for having a"blue"period...Picasso had one and made loads of cash :-)...seriously we all go through bad times when the monsters we thought we had sent packing yonks ago rear their ugly heads again. The trick is letting them get on with it,say what they have to say, listen, nod along, then say"Thanks, thats your opinion, but I'm choosing not to listen."You are a lovely lady and your friends are,as you say, there because they want to be,whether you're happy OR sad.Sending love, from one head-case to another.Min xxx
