Think I'm being hoisted by my own petard as I hate labels. You could be right, Ishmael, and perhaps it's a regional understanding of the term 'Dominatrix' or perhaps I stand fully corrected. I/i??

I've always had the impression that "Dominatrix" is a word used in porn but not much in real life ..
|
Sheesh. I was just suggesting the poster looking for a dominatrix changed his terminology in order to find someone not asking for monies.
|
IC BDSM dictionary says:
The term dominatrix is little used within the BDSM scene, and is usually used to refer to professional dominants ("pro-dommes"). A more common name for a non-professional dominant woman is Domme or perhaps Mistress, depending on the type of dominant they are. Dominatrix is one of the favourite words used by writers outside the Scene - for example, by tabloid newspapers to refer to pro-dommes involved in scandals with famous customers. There is no equivalent term to describe a professional male dominant.
|
According to wikipedia 'Dominatrix is the feminine form of the Latin dominator, a ruler or lord, and was originally used in a non-sexual sense. Its use in English dates back to at least 1561. Its earliest recorded use in the prevalent modern sense, as a female dominant in S&M, dates to 1967'. So maybe a male dom should now be called a Dominator............

This is the right place to find the perfect sub...nary a Dominatrix in sight tho.
Good luck with your search OP, this long thread will have attracted attention anyway, so you may get a response.
Take care

You pop in the car and drive to that sandwich shop, and order yourself a real sub of the day, can make it how you like then

No, The Cottage in Blackpool everytime!

But they don't do a sub of the day for this lovely couple!
The cottage is the place for sandwiches though, or Hogans, mmmmm

That is the one and ONLY thing I miss about Blackpool. used to live right across the street from it and went there most days for food.. Why can't they move it here You're amazing, yes it's true. But without me, you're only you.

Obviously that impressive amount of time must be sufficient for an educated POV on not only "the Lifestyle" (coughs), but also on who is a timewaster or a faker.
I'm deeply impressed by these elaborate skills indeed.

People can have a life that includes all sorts of things before they make a profile on IC. You're making the assumption that because someone has only just joined IC that they are completely new to everything.

Um sorry, no.
I did make the assumption though, that it is slightly weird to expect to know who is a "faker" or a "timewaster" within 5 days here.

Fair point, but the profile hardly transmits a sense of deep BDSM knowledge. To me it reads like a couple of swingers who after being on line for some time have jus found I.C.
Which isn't really a good place to make a judgement on all the timewasters. IMO
